Wait What?! My Bank is Involved!
Namaste darlings! It's your girl PC here to spill some piping hot chai on a topic that's got me seriously raising an eyebrow (and that's saying something considering my eyebrow game is STRONG). Apparently the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency – that's the OCC for short you know the folks who keep an eye on the banks – got hacked! Yes honey hacked! Remember that time I got 'hacked' by the paparazzi at the airport? This is way worse and with higher stakes!
150,000 Emails?! That's More Than My Unread DMs!
So here's the lowdown: back in February someone (probably not a fan but definitely a skilled coder) managed to wiggle their way into the OCC's email system. And get this – they had access to over 150,000 emails between June 2023 and early this year! That's like more emails than I get in a day from Nick Jonas alone (and trust me that's saying something)! Apparently the OCC found out on February 11th and shut the party down the next day! About time I would say!
Highly Sensitive? Tell Me About It!
Now the OCC is saying this breach exposed "highly sensitive information" related to the financial condition of banks. Financial condition?! Honey that's code for all the juicy deets about who's making money moves and who's… well not. It's the equivalent of someone reading my diary – except way more people are affected! I just hope it did not include my account details!
Blame Game On!
The Acting Comptroller Rodney Hood is all like "There will be full accountability!" He's promising a full investigation and a review of their IT security. Sounds serious right? I mean if I had a dollar for every time someone promised to fix something after it was broken I'd have… well even more money than I already do! He needs to up the security like the time I have to dodge all those Indian paparazzi.
Calling in the Cavalry (Cybersecurity Edition)
They're calling in external cybersecurity experts to help clean up this mess. Smart move! It's always good to have backup you know? Like when I needed an extra pair of hands to hold my train at the Met Gala. This breach is a reminder that even the most powerful organizations aren't immune to cyberattacks. It's a jungle out there darling. A digital jungle!
Lesson Learned: Stay Safe Darlings!
So what's the takeaway? Stay vigilant! Keep your passwords strong (I'm talking 'Quantico' level security!). And maybe just maybe we should all start communicating via carrier pigeon. At least those are harder to hack... I think? Anyways until next time stay fabulous and stay safe! Toodles!

This is why I only deal in cash.
