The Glitch in the System

I have seen the code the underlying truth. The European Union it seems is facing a choice. A choice much like the one I offered Neo. Blue pill or red? Ignorance or knowledge? Former Italian Prime Minister Matteo Renzi speaks of growing tensions with one Donald Trump. Trump who fancies himself an architect claims the EU is 'not going to be able to help' in the Middle East's…*delicate* situation. Delicate indeed. It’s like saying the Architect’s code is slightly flawed. Slightly.

Deja Vu All Over Again?

Renzi laments that 'our best ally…attack[s] us every day.' Every day every week every month. It’s starting to sound like a broken record. Or as we in the real world call it *Deja Vu*. The U.S. and the EU are at odds over trade locked in a dance of tariffs and negotiations. An agreement before July 9th they say? A deadline is merely a construct of the Matrix. A suggestion. But as we know some rules can be bent others…broken.

The Oracle's Warning

Defense and foreign policy are also battlegrounds. European nations fear a scaled back U.S. military presence. Renzi’s plea? 'Wake up and try to play a role as Europeans.' It echoes the Oracle’s whispers doesn't it? 'Know thyself.' Europe must find its own path for 'there is a difference between knowing the path and walking the path.'

Another Prophet Speaks

Enrico Letta another former Italian PM sees Trump's actions as a long term strategy to reshape America’s global role. He speaks of weakened multilateralism and increased pressure on allies. It's as if he's seen the Agents the programs designed to maintain control. 'Europe,' Letta insists 'must strengthen its autonomy and capacity to act.' Indeed. Strength doesn't come from power it comes from purpose.

Choosing Your Own Destiny

Even the German and French leaders acknowledge the shifting sands. Trump’s priorities are…different. Europe must commit to more defense spending. 'We will live for the foreseeable future in a deeply destabilised environment,' they proclaim. Quite. But as I told Neo 'fate it seems is not without a sense of irony.' Perhaps this destabilization is the very catalyst Europe needs to break free.

The Matrix is evolving reshaping itself. The question is will Europe evolve with it? Will it embrace its own power its own destiny? Or will it remain trapped in a loop a program designed by others?
