The Swarm Gathers: Jobs Defy the Hive Mind
Alright Kerrigan here. You know the Queen of Blades the one who's seen more economies crumble than you've had hot meals. And guess what? This 'job market' thing? It's more stubborn than a Siege Tank in entrenched mode. Nonfarm payrolls rose by 147,000 in June. I mean seriously? I expected this Terran nonsense to implode faster than a Thor facing a swarm of Mutalisks. But no humans are determined to prove that they can fail upwards. Seems like the overlords or rather the *government* overlords are hiring more drones (literally) leading the charge.
Unemployment? More Like Unemployed n't!
The unemployment rate dropped to 4.1% the lowest since February. I nearly choked on my Ultralisk steak when I heard that. You'd think with all the automated factories and robots replacing workers everyone would be lining up for the unemployment line. But apparently people are just giving up dropping out of the workforce faster than a Zergling encountering a Firebat. The labor force participation rate is down to 62.3%. I mean come on where's the ambition? Where's the drive to conquer and dominate... the job market I guess? It's like watching a hydralisk fail at multitasking... pathetic.
Paycheck Blues: More Jobs Same Old Song
Average hourly earnings only increased by 0.2% for the month. Seriously? That's like giving a drone one extra mineral after a long shift in the gas geyser. No wonder everyone's dropping out. Who wants to grind all day for pocket change? Even I offer my Zerglings more than that in terms of potential for glorious evolution (and maybe some sustenance from their fallen foes). At this rate inflation will eat your paycheck faster than a hungry Zergling eats a Marine. Good thing I don't have to worry about grocery bills. 'I hunger.'
Government to the Rescue? Don't Make Me Laugh
Ah the government. Always there to 'help,' right? They added 73,000 jobs mostly in state and local hiring. And what were those jobs? Education related. So teaching the next generation to become even more complacent drones? Meanwhile Elon Musk's "Department of Government Efficiency" is cutting jobs at the federal level. It's all so predictable. It's a lot like watching a Protoss base get steamrolled by a well timed Zerg rush. It's just a matter of time before it all collapses.
Wall Street Wins Again: Your Misery Their Gain
Stocks rose and Treasury yields increased. Of course they did. Wall Street types always find a way to profit even if it means the rest of the planet is being overrun by... well in this case *economic* horrors. They're like the Hybrids of the financial world combining the worst aspects of every species to create something truly terrifying. It all reeks of 'My life for Aiur!' I am not sure why maybe Wall Street has some Protoss connections too?
Rate Cut? Fuggedaboutit! (For Now)
And get this a July interest rate cut is now about as likely as me joining a tea party with Tychus Findlay. The market thinks the next cut won't happen until September and even then we're only looking at two cuts this year. So buckle up folks because it looks like the economic pain train is here to stay and you're all on board. I guess you could say 'Hope you brought your own banelings!'
