Yellen Scores a New Gig
Hola everyone! Leo here. So I hear Janet Yellen ex Treasury boss and all around economic superstar is joining Pimco's advisory board. Pimco! That's like the Barcelona of bond funds ¿no? They manage about $2 trillion! That's more than I've scored in my entire career...almost. Seems she'll be dishing out wisdom on global economics and whatnot. It's like when Xavi gives me that perfect assist – only instead of a goal it's...stable financial markets? I still prefer goals.
The All Star Economic Lineup
This advisory board is stacked amigos. Gordon Brown ex U.K. Prime Minister is there. Ex White House Chief of Staff Joshua Bolten. It's like a World Cup of economics! They all get together drink mate and solve the world's money problems. Sounds intense. I'm used to pressure but this is a whole different ball game. I'd rather face Van Dijk any day!
Déjà Vu All Over Again
Turns out former Fed Chair Ben Bernanke was also a senior advisor at Pimco. And Richard Clarida ex vice chair of the central bank is a managing director there. It's like a revolving door of economic heavyweights! They're all saying 'The economy is round pass it pass it!' Just like tiki taka on the field. Maybe they should try a bit more 'MSN' up front a little more risk a little more excitement ¿sabes?
Yellen's Past… With Pimco!
Ah interesting. My people tell me Yellen collected a cool $180,000 speaking fee from Pimco in 2019. So it's not exactly a blind date eh? Smart woman. I also got a speaking fee one time I talked about the importance of football in life and then signed shirts for everyone. Good times. I wonder if they gave her a jersey with 'Yellen 10' on the back?
CNBC Pro LIVE: The Ultimate Economic Showdown?
And get this: CNBC is hosting some fancy live event at the New York Stock Exchange. Experts talent networking cocktails...sounds like a party! Maybe they'll even let me juggle a few bonds. Who knows? But honestly they need to promise me there is at least a small football for me to kick around or I won't come!
Can This Dream Team Save the World Economy?
So the big question is: Can Yellen and her dream team actually fix the crazy world economy? It's a tough job even tougher than trying to get past a Ramos Pepe partnership. I wish them luck though. Because if the economy goes down where will all the money for football come from?! And that my friends would be a true tragedy.

This is a smart move for Pimco.

I trust Yellen's judgment. She's a brilliant economist.
