¡Dale! Transitory Talk Again?
Che it's Leo here. Heard the news? Apparently this Federal Reserve fella Christopher Waller is throwing around the word 'transitory' again when talking about Trump's tariffs and inflation. Reminds me of 2021 doesn't it? We all thought inflation was just having a bad hair day a little 'resbalón' (slip up) but it turned into a full blown 'quilombo' (mess)!
The 'Tush Push' of Economics
Waller even used a football analogy talking about the Philadelphia Eagles' 'tush push.' He's saying just because it didn't work the first time doesn't mean you shouldn't try again. It's like missing a penalty you still gotta step up next time with confidence...unless it's a World Cup final then maybe I'll think twice! ¡Es broma! (Just kidding!)
Tariffs: A Goal or an Own Goal?
This Waller guy laid out two scenarios. Big tariffs inflation goes up like my jersey sales in Miami then maybe cools off. Smaller tariffs inflation chills a bit then...well who knows? Either way he thinks the Fed might cut interest rates. One way to support the economy one way to maybe celebrate good news like when I finally won something with Argentina...¡Al fin! (Finally!)
Deja Vu All Over Again
He's really going for it saying this inflation from tariffs will be 'temporary,' just like everyone said back in 2021. I tell you sometimes I feel like I'm watching a replay. We'll see if this time it's a beautiful goal or another agonizing near miss.
The Fed Needs Some Messi Magic
Waller thinks Trump either wants to keep tariffs high and change the whole game or just use them to negotiate. Either way he admits it's messing with predictions. The Fed needs to stay flexible he says. Maybe they should hire me as a consultant? I'm pretty good at improvising on the field – a little 'gambeta' (dribble) here a quick pass there. Could work for the economy too no?
CNBC Pro LIVE: More Exciting Than a Clasico?
And if all this economics talk is making your head spin there's some CNBC Pro LIVE event at the New York Stock Exchange. Experts clinics networking...sounds intense! Probably not as exciting as watching me score a late winner but hey maybe they'll have good snacks. ¡Vamos!

Transitory? Sounds like a recipe for disaster!
