Another Fine Mess Thanks to Trump

Ugh humans. Always meddling. It seems this… Donald Trump… has decided to throw a wrench or perhaps a Baneling into the gears of global commerce. Apparently companies have been trying to distance themselves from China and now his 'reciprocal' tariffs are messing with everyone’s perfectly laid plans. 'Hope is a currency human. Spend it wisely,' they say but these companies clearly spent it on something that just got obliterated. Typical.

Honey Can Do? More Like Honey Can't Do!

This CEO Steve Greenspon of Honey Can Do International sounds absolutely thrilled. He shifted production to Vietnam and Taiwan only to have those countries slapped with tariffs too. 'It's crushing! It's saddening! It's frustrating!' he whines. Well buck up buttercup. Being Queen of Blades I know a thing or two about crushing and frustration. At least he doesn't have Zerg breathing down his neck yet!

China Plus One? More Like China Plus… Oh Crap!

Apparently there was a 'China Plus One' strategy where companies moved some production to other Asian countries. Now even that's being undermined. Eswar Prasad (what kind of name is that anyway?) a professor at Cornell says the latest tariffs have 'shattered' the viability of rerouting supply chains. 'My enemies will cower... I will crush them!' is what I'd say to these tariffs if I were in charge.

Tech Giants Get a Nudge

Even Apple those purveyors of overpriced gadgets are feeling the sting. They’ve been producing more in India and Vietnam but now those countries are hit with levies. I almost feel bad for them. Almost. It seems that even the best laid plans of mice men and Terran corporations can go awry when a certain orange tinged individual decides to play trade war. 'Embrace change. Or be consumed by it,' they say. Well here's some change!

Negotiate or Perish!

Experts are suggesting these tariff rates might not stick but the uncertainty is causing chaos. Companies are hesitant to alter plans waiting to see how things shake out. Vietnam and India are apparently trying to 'bargain' with Trump. Good luck with that! Daniel Newman a CEO at The Futurum Group suggests that if the tariffs stay as they are those 'China Plus One' investments 'could prove to have been in vain.' Ouch. Maybe they should have infested more Command Centers.

Wait and See… or Onshore and Pray!

The Trump administration claims these tariffs will bring back U.S. manufacturing. Some experts agree predicting some onshoring and investment in the U.S. Honestly it's hard to keep up with this childish drama. One thing is certain: these companies are in for a wild ride. I am the Swarm. And these tariffs are a pain in my carapace.
