China retaliates against U.S. tariffs with levies of their own, sending global markets into a tailspin. Could this be the end of fabulous deals or just another bump on the road to financial fabulousity?

From Fifth Avenue to Far East Oh Honey...

Okay so China's throwing a bit of a tantrum a silk stockinged dragon lady esque tantrum but a tantrum nonetheless. Seems those pesky tariffs that Donald *ahem* I mean the previous administration slapped on Chinese goods? Well China's not exactly thrilled. And honey when China's not thrilled the whole world feels it. You see they're slapping a 34% tariff on *all* goods coming from the U.S. starting April 10. It's like I finally find the *perfect* pair of Manolos online and then BAM! Shipping doubles because of a trade war. A girl can't win!

Blame Game: Who's Wearing the Ugly Shoes?

China's Ministry of Foreign Affairs is all like 'The U.S. needs to chill and cancel these tariffs!' They want to 'resolve trade differences through consultation.' Which in my world translates to: 'Let's all sit down with cosmos and talk this out.' But something tells me this isn't going to be that kind of party. They're calling the U.S. tariffs 'inconsistent with international trade rules.' Seriously undermines Chinese interests and endangers global economic development? Well isn't that a mouthful darling!

Unreliable? More Like Un fabulous!

As if the tariffs weren't enough drama China's gone and added 11 U.S. firms to the 'unreliable entities list.' Which sounds like my dating history only with more paperwork. Apparently these companies have violated market rules or contractual commitments. I mean haven't we all at some point? And sixteen U.S. entities are added to its export control list. Export controls on seven types of rare earth related items including samarium gadolinium and terbium? Sounds like something Big would use to build a secret lair doesn't it?

WTO No She Didn't!

And because no good drama is complete without a formal complaint China's filed one with the World Trade Organization. They're saying the U.S. tariffs 'seriously violate WTO rules.' It's like Samantha trying to get a table at the hottest new restaurant – all accusations and no reservations. The international economic and trade order has been seriously undermined! Well that's one way to describe it darling. I just hope it doesn't affect the price of those limited edition Dior bags.

Trump's Truth (or Dare): Did China Panic?

Of course the ever eloquent former president chimed in on Truth Social declaring that 'CHINA PLAYED IT WRONG THEY PANICKED THE ONE THING THEY CANNOT AFFORD TO DO!' One can only imagine how he would react at my closet... So it is like is he right? Is it too much? I mean does anyone know what is going on? Beijing had warned about 'resolute counter measures,' and now they've delivered. Other U.S. trading partners are probably watching this unfold like I watch a perfectly crafted soufflé – with bated breath and a healthy dose of skepticism.

Market Meltdown: Is My Portfolio Wearing a Frown?

The global markets are having a full on anxiety attack. U.S. stock futures are plummeting like my confidence after a bad date. The Dow Jones Industrial Average the S&P 500 and the Nasdaq 100 are all taking a nosedive. Even European stocks are feeling the pinch. It's like the entire financial world just realized they wore last season's shoes. Question is does this mean I should sell all my stocks and buy more shoes? Because you know priorities.

I'm starting to think economics is just like dating – confusing and full of drama.
