A Disappointing Return
Good heavens what's this I'm reading? It seems even those melodious youngsters from BTS can't always fill a stadium. I must say even my own attempts at charming the Springfield populace usually result in more attendees than this. Did they forget to offer free jujubes? Shares in Hybe their puppet master's company took a rather unpleasant tumble after their Seoul concert drew fewer fans than expected. It seems even the young ones are not immune to the vagaries of the market. Perhaps they should have hired Smithers to promote the show; he has a certain…enthusiasm.
Military Service Impacts Bottom Line
Blast this mandatory military service. It interferes with profits you see! While they were off playing soldier their company's profits took a nosedive. It's outrageous. Meanwhile Trump's Pearl Harbor Quip Stuns Japan's PM reminding us that international relations much like the stock market can be terribly unpredictable. Speaking of international incidents I once tried to purchase the Loch Ness Monster to boost Burns Industries but that's a tale for another time and it didn't involve this level of financial setback. It seems this 'K Pop' is more volatile than plutonium.
Competition Heats Up
Bah competition. It's like trying to steal candy from a baby only the baby has a laser. I thought I had a monopoly on Springfield's power supply but then that Simpson fellow and his environmental crusades came along. Now these BTS lads find themselves facing similar foes in the form of Blackpink and other such groups. The young people today with their music and their dances…it all sounds the same to me. They should try harnessing the power of fear; that's how I built my empire.
Netflix to the Rescue?
Netflix eh? Streaming their concerts to 190 countries. A cunning plan perhaps but will it truly offset the disappointment of a less than packed stadium? It sounds like a desperate attempt to recoup losses. One must wonder if they considered offering a limited edition Burns Industries nuclear waste container as a prize for viewers. Now that's something that would get the young people excited especially in light of my expert knowledge on environmental waste managment.
Analyst Expectations Dashed
Analysts those so called experts. Always making predictions that are about as accurate as my memory. They raised their target price only to see the stock plummet. Perhaps they should consult me before making such pronouncements. I have years of experience manipulating markets albeit sometimes with…questionable ethics. I once tried to corner the sugar market. It didn't end well but at least it was memorable!
A Lesson in Market Volatility
This whole BTS debacle serves as a valuable lesson. The market is a fickle beast and even the most popular acts are not immune to its whims. One must always diversify one's investments. For example I've been eyeing that newfangled 'cryptocurrency' the youngsters are so fond of. Perhaps it's time to add it to my portfolio alongside my collection of priceless Faberge eggs and nuclear power plants.
