Early Days and Stardust
Ah youth! Such a fleeting precious thing. Like a Chocolate Frog card collection it promises endless possibilities. Young Beau Vallis a mere eighteen years of age stepped into the hallowed halls of Jimmy Douglass' studio a place where musical spells were cast and melodies brewed like potions. It was there amidst the swirling sounds and mixing consoles that he met the enchanting Kelly Rowland of Destiny's Child fame. He became her go to engineer a role he embraced with the enthusiasm of a first year student discovering the Room of Requirement. As I always say 'It takes a great deal of bravery to stand up to our enemies but just as much to stand up to our friends.' And I imagine standing up to a mixing board is a bravery all its own.
Grammy Glory and Goblin Woes
Success followed shimmering like a Golden Snitch in the sunlight. Work with icons like Sia and Sean Paul a Grammy nomination for Pharrell Williams' 'Girl' – a dazzling start! But as every seasoned wizard knows even the most potent spells can have unforeseen side effects. Vallis discovered that the music industry alas is not always as fair as a Quidditch match officiated by Madam Hooch. 'The label kind of chooses what they want to pay when they want to pay it,' he lamented. A lamentable situation indeed! It seems even Muggles have their own versions of Goblins when it comes to financial matters.
Fiverr's Phoenix Tears
Despair not! For like a phoenix rising from the ashes (or perhaps Fawkes shedding a tear to heal a wound) a solution appeared. Fiverr a marketplace of talent whispered promises of income. Vallis with the wisdom of a seasoned seeker seized the opportunity. He conjured up gigs priced as modestly as Bertie Bott's Every Flavor Beans starting at a mere $25! In 2016 he earned a few thousand dollars. A humble start perhaps but as I often remind my students 'From humble beginnings come great things.'
Becoming the Amazon Prime of Sound
By 2017 with a little help from his newfound online community Vallis was thriving full time on Fiverr. Now he's amassed over $1.2 million averaging $13,000 per month in 2024! Remarkable! His secret? Customer service that would make even a house elf blush. 'I'm answering you at all hours of the day,' he proclaims a dedication worthy of a Head Boy. He even calls it the 'Amazon Prime of Fiverr.' A rather Muggle analogy but I gather it emphasizes speed and efficiency. 'You want it now,' he says. A sentiment that I confess I can relate to when it comes to Lemon Drops.
A Personal Touch: More Than Just Mixing
But there's more to Vallis's success than mere speed. He adds a personal touch demonstrating genuine care for his clients. 'Get to know people,' he advises. He remembers details inquiries after their day and even acknowledges their trips to the doctor. This human connection he believes sets him apart. 'There's people out there that can probably do what I do maybe better,' he admits 'but they can't beat me on customer service.' A wise observation! It reminds me of the importance of empathy a quality as essential as a wand in a wizard's hand.
A Career Change Potion?
And so dear readers Beau Vallis's story is a testament to the power of adaptability hard work and a sprinkle of human kindness. If you too seek a career that is higher paying more flexible or fulfilling perhaps this Muggle contraption called CNBC's online course holds the key. One can but hope! As I always say 'It does not do to dwell on dreams and forget to live.' Though perhaps dwelling on dreams of a better career isn't so bad after all... especially if it involves a course that offers a discount! Now if you'll excuse me I believe I hear a particularly insistent request for Lemon Drops.

So happy for Beau. Hard work always pays off!
