The Super Bowl of AI and Me (Mostly Me)

Woohoo Nvidia's yearly shindig the "Super Bowl of AI," kicked off and apparently it's a big deal. Tens of thousands of nerds I mean *attendees* gathered in California to see what the world's most valuable company is cooking up. I woulda gone but Marge said I had to fix the toilet. Priorities people priorities.

Shiny New Chips Mmm... Chips

So CNBC's Katie Tarasov was there and she told me all about the shiny new toys. Apparently Nvidia unveiled a Language Processing Unit (LPU) which is like a GPU but... different. It's from this company called Groq which Nvidia bought for a whopping $20 billion. That's a lot of donuts I could've bought with that kind of money. Speaking of things going wrong like for example IndiGo CEO Abruptly Resigns Amidst Pilot Fatigue Debacle but back to Nvidia and then there's this Vera Rubin CPU thingy which is apparently making a comeback. Who knew CPUs were still a thing I thought they went the way of the dodo bird… or maybe that was just my computer after I spilled beer on it.

Agentic AI The Future Is Now Doh

The big buzzword this year is "agentic AI." Katie says it's all about AI agents doing tasks instead of just answering questions. Sounds like hard work. I prefer my AI to just tell me where the closest Duff is. This agentic AI stuff needs faster inference which means more fancy chips and data transfer. Sounds complicated. Maybe I'll just stick to yelling at the TV.

Huang's Star Power D'oh nut Miss the Selfie

Apparently Jensen Huang the big cheese at Nvidia is a rock star now. People were swarming him for selfies like he was handing out free donuts. I can relate. If I was handing out donuts I'd be swarmed too. Mmm... donuts.

Wall Street's Disappointment Mmm... Disappointment

Here's the kicker Wall Street's not impressed. Even with Huang's promises of a trillion dollars in orders the stock went down a bit. Apparently Nvidia showed off some of its stuff too early and investors are a fickle bunch. Maybe they're just jealous they didn't get any free donuts.

The Future is Soup to Nuts Doh lightful

So Nvidia's changing its game. They're not just about GPUs anymore. They're going "soup to nuts," whatever that means. They're even working on a new architecture called Kyber which sounds like something out of Star Wars. Maybe they'll let me drive the Millennium Falcon.
