Mmm Degraded Performance

So I heard about this thing called Anthropic and they got this Claude AI right? Sounds fancy like something Mr. Burns would use to replace Smithers. But apparently this Claude started acting up like when I try to "help" Marge with dinner. They called it "degraded performance" on their Opus 4.6 model. Sounds serious like when I drop my donut. D'oh!

Pentagon Panic: Ay Caramba

Turns out this Claude AI thing was also making friends with the Pentagon. You know those guys who play with all the shiny toys. But then things got messy like when Bart replaces the sugar with salt. Anthropic wanted the Pentagon to promise they wouldn't use Claude for get this fully autonomous weapons or spying on folks. And the Pentagon was like "Eat my shorts" So the government split with Anthropic like me splitting from vegetables. Trump's Order: Doh Nuts to Anthropic

And then comes President Trump who I once met at a rally except it turned out to be Krusty the Clown in disguise. He orders everyone in the government to stop using Anthropic's stuff. Pow right in the kisser. The Defense Secretary even called them a "supply chain risk to national security". That sounds serious like when I accidentally caused a nuclear meltdown at the power plant.

OpenAI Scoops Up the Dough

Enter OpenAI the AI rival. They swooped in faster than I can eat a donut and made a deal with the Department of Defense. Seems like someone's gonna be saying "I didn't do it!" while another is saying "Woo Hoo". Smart move because the last thing you want to do is make the Pentagon angry. Trust me they can get really mad.

Marge Is This Ethical?

So this whole thing got me thinking Marge is it ethical to use AI for war or spying? It's like using a super powered spatula to flip pancakes... or launch missiles. These AI things are getting smarter and faster than me and that's saying something. We need to make sure they don't become the next Kang and Kodos taking over the world.

So What Did We Learn?

Well I learned that even fancy AI can have a bad day the Pentagon doesn't like being told what to do and President Trump loves making headlines. Oh and I also learned that I need more donuts. Always more donuts. D'oh.
