The Unexpected Setback

Well hello there. It's me Mr. Bean. Fancy seeing you here. Today things have taken a turn for the complicated haven't they? It appears Mr. Trump is in a bit of a pickle. The Supreme Court like a well placed rubber chicken has thrown a wrench into his plans.

A Six to Three Situation

From what I gather the Supreme Court in a manner most decisive voted six to three. Reminds me of the time I tried to assemble a bookshelf. Six steps forward three steps back. It's a significant ruling about import duties a topic as thrilling as watching paint dry... almost. If this is your kind of thing and you are interested in some light reading while having lunch then consider reading Howard Lutnick's Epstein Island Lunch Raises Eyebrows and Questions.

The White House Responds

Now the White House like Teddy after a particularly vigorous scrubbing is set to address this. A press briefing is planned. I do wonder if they'll have sandwiches. One can only hope for a cucumber sandwich or perhaps a sneaky digestive biscuit.

Trump's Tariff Tussle

Apparently this tariff business was quite central to Mr. Trump's... well everything. His economic agenda his foreign policy all hinged on his ability to just *poof* put tariffs on things. Like magic but with more paperwork I presume.

Unilateral Power Struggles

This "unilateral power" they speak of sounds rather like trying to drive a car from the back seat. Possible perhaps but hardly recommended. The court seems to think that perhaps just perhaps Mr. Trump got a bit ahead of himself.

What It All Means

In the end it seems Mr. Trump's grand plan for tariffs has been somewhat... deflated. A bit like my inflatable armchair after I tried to use it as a trampoline. The world keeps turning though and I'm sure there'll be more surprises to come.
