The Return of the Screen My Thoughts
Okay friends Jackie Chan here. So American Airlines might be bringing back seatback screens Imagine that It's like going back to the future But seriously I remember a time when every flight felt like a mini cinema. Then they took them away to save weight like taking away my stunt doubles to save money (just kidding I love my team). But now it seems they're realizing maybe staring at your phone for hours isn't the best in flight experience. A good screen can keep you entertained especially on those long flights where all you want to do is relax and maybe watch one of my movies.
SpaceX and Amazon Joining the Flight
Now here's where it gets interesting. American Airlines is talking to SpaceX's Starlink and Amazon Leo for in flight Wi Fi. I've faced bigger challenges than dodgy airplane Wi Fi believe me. Imagine having internet so fast you can stream all my movies non stop from takeoff to landing That's the dream isn't it? And Amazon might provide content for the seats like Amazon Prime. I'm curious to see how this unfolds. It's a smart move to stay competitive especially with Delta and United upping their game. To understand the wider business implications you might want to read Walmart and Target's New Bosses The Future of Retail.
American Playing Catch Up
Let's be honest American Airlines is playing catch up here. They removed the screens to save money but now they're realizing that passengers want more. It's like trying to cut costs on a movie set and then realizing you can't skimp on the explosions. You gotta give the audience what they want I remember when I was filming 'Rush Hour' there was this one scene... well never mind. The point is investing in customer experience is crucial.
Premium Seating and Miles for Purchases
I also heard that American is adding more premium seats and considering letting customers use miles for purchases. That’s a clever idea. It’s like getting a discount for being a loyal fan. Everyone likes a good deal right? I always say "Don't look for money look for solutions." If you can make the in flight experience better and reward your loyal customers that’s a win win.
The Future of Flying
So what does this mean for the future of flying? Well it looks like airlines are finally waking up to the fact that comfort and entertainment are important. Maybe soon we'll have Wi Fi so good we can video call our families from 30,000 feet or even watch live sports. And who knows maybe they'll even start playing my movies on those seatback screens again. I’m available American Airlines give me a call
Final Thoughts: A Kick in the Right Direction
This news is a good sign. It means airlines are starting to listen to what passengers want. And who knows maybe this will lead to even better in flight experiences in the future. As I always say "I'm not a perfectionist but I like to do things well." And hopefully American Airlines will do this well and give their passengers a flight to remember. Until then stay safe stay entertained and keep flying High
