Bah MrBeast. The name alone grates on my ears. I Montgomery Burns have been building empires since before this 'MrBeast' was a twinkle in his mother's eye. But one must acknowledge even grudgingly that this whippersnapper is on to something. He's bought himself a 'financial app' called Step. Apparently it's for the youths those easily manipulated creatures who seem to have an endless supply of disposable income. It's all rather…modern. And if there's one thing I dislike it's anything post 1900.

Step Aside Smithers I'm Entering Fintech

Step you say? Providing tools for financial literacy? Preposterous. In my day financial literacy meant knowing which stocks to buy and which unions to crush. But these youths they need apps to tell them how to save their pennies. Still pennies add up. And this MrBeast is collecting quite the pile. He plans to use this Step to and I quote from their press release "meet audiences where they are." Where they are? Glued to their infernal devices I presume. Perhaps I should acquire TikTok next...Smithers get me my checkbook and remind me what a TikTok even is. Beast Industries: A Threat or a Fleeting Fancy?

This 'Beast Industries'. It sounds like something I would have named my company if I were…less sophisticated. They have a snack brand a philanthropy arm and a reality TV show. Good heavens. It's all rather…scattered. Focus young man focus! Stick to what you know. Which in his case seems to be attracting the attention of impressionable youngsters. But this approach could be just the ticket for luring in these naive youngsters with the promise of turning their worthless digital tokens into real assets my assets.

7 Million Users: A Tempting Target

Seven million users they say. Seven million potential…customers. Or perhaps employees. Imagine the possibilities. I could have them mining crypto in the basement of the power plant. Burns Coin perhaps? The possibilities are as endless as my ambition and as deep as my coffers both of which are considerably vast.

The Future of Finance: A Geriatric's Perspective

Finance is not what it used to be. Back in my day a handshake was your bond and a good cigar sealed the deal. Now it's all algorithms and 'blockchain' and other words that sound suspiciously like communist propaganda. Nevertheless even an old dog like myself can learn a new trick or two. Perhaps it's time I invested in some of these 'digital assets' before they become too expensive. Smithers find me the nearest teenager and have them explain this 'NFT' business to me. But have security ready.

Excellent...Or Is It?

So MrBeast enters the world of finance. Will he succeed? Will he revolutionize the way young people handle their money? Or will he simply become another flash in the pan a passing fad in the ever changing digital landscape? Only time will tell. But one thing is certain: Montgomery Burns will be watching. Waiting.
