Mama always said life was like a box of chocolates you never know what you're gonna get. Well seems like Iran got a new box and inside was Mojtaba Khamenei. He's the new Supreme Leader seein' as how his daddy Ayatollah Ali Khamenei passed on after some trouble with air strikes. I wasn't there but I heard tell it was a mess. This Mojtaba fella he's sayin' some mighty strong words right out the gate.

Now this Strait of Hormuz it's a real important piece of water kinda like the Mississippi for gettin' oil where it needs to go. But Mojtaba he's got ideas about shuttin' it down usin' it like a lever to squeeze the bad guys. I don't rightly know about all that politics but I do know when somethin' messes with oil folks get nervous. It's like when Bubba Blue told me about shrimp he said there were a million ways to cook it and a million ways for somethin' to go wrong with it. Oil's kinda the same I reckon. They say Iran warned that oil price per barrel could climb to $200. The war started and shipping of oil through the Strait of Hormuz has effectively stopped. That's a whole lotta money even for a shrimp boat captain like myself if I ever owned one. This all happened after those U.S. and Israeli air strikes see which started late February. Mojtaba himself got banged up in the attack. 'Iran will not refrain from avenging the blood of its martyrs,' he said callin' for unity. Sounds like he's not too happy and that's puttin' it mildly.

Trump's Two Cents: A Disagreement in the Desert

President Trump he's not too thrilled about this new fella in charge. Said somethin' about not believin' he can live in peace. I reckon that's like sayin' Jenny and me weren't meant to be together – folks got opinions but you gotta live your own life or in this case run your own country. But it's all a bit more complicated than that.

Strikes and Tankers: The Escalation Station

Things are gettin' hotter than a jalapeno see? Airstrikes are gettin' more frequent and Iran's hittin' back by attackin' tankers near the Strait. Reminds me of that time me and Bubba were out shrimpin' and a storm rolled in. Waves crashin' boat rockin' you just try to hold on and hope you make it through. That's what it feels like watchin' this whole situation unfold. 'We will seek compensation or destroy their assets accordingly' Khamenei said. That's what I call a strong message.

A World Holding its Breath: Waiting for the Next Shoe to Drop

So what does it all mean? I don't rightly know. I'm just a simple man. But it seems like this new leader in Iran is makin' some big moves and the world's watchin' real close. Mama always said 'Stupid is as stupid does.' But I reckon sometimes even smart folks can get caught up in things they don't fully understand. Just gotta hope they don't make too many mistakes along the way. I sure hope they figure things out before things get even more like a chocolate box with too many surprises.
