A New Witcher Contract Awaits The Fed

Well damn. Looks like someone tossed a coin to *this* Witcher Geralt to sort out another mess. This time it involves the Federal Reserve – a place more convoluted than a Dopplerganger's alibi. President Trump it seems has nominated Kevin Warsh to replace Jerome Powell as chairman. But as I always say "Evil is evil. Lesser greater middling… Makes no difference. The degree is arbitary. The definition’s blurred." Whether this Warsh is an improvement remains to be seen.

Political Games Afoot Worse Than Gwent

But here's the rub. Senator Thom Tillis is playing politics harder than a merchant trying to haggle down the price of Griffin mutagen. He's blocking Warsh's nomination until a certain "federal criminal investigation" against Powell is dropped. Sounds like someone's got a bone to pick or perhaps a contract of their own. Speaking of messy situations have you read AMD's Stock Takes a Tumble Despite Strong Q4 Results? It seems even the markets have their own share of troubles these days.

Accusations and Rate Cuts A Familiar Tune

Powell claims he's being investigated because he and other Fed governors wouldn't bow to Trump's demands to cut interest rates. Ah pressure. As common as drowners near a swamp. Trump allegedly tried to fire Fed Governor Lisa Cook last summer citing mortgage fraud allegations. Cook denies any wrongdoing naturally. Sounds like a classic case of "When you lie you have to weave a web of lies." Seems everyone is weaving webs in this saga.

Supreme Court's Verdict: Destiny or Another Toss of the Coin?

The Supreme Court even got involved hearing arguments about whether Trump can fire Cook. Still waiting on that verdict. Destiny or another toss of the coin? Either way the Fed is looking less like a pillar of stability and more like a battlefield. And Witchers are not equipped to deal with politics only Monsters and beasts.

The Witcher's Take: Chaos as Usual

From my perspective this whole situation stinks of power plays and personal vendettas. It reminds me of those petty kingdom squabbles only with bigger stakes. But hey what else is new? As I've learned over the years "People like to invent monsters and monstrosities. Then they seem less monstrous themselves."

Stay Tuned: More Monsters to Come

So keep your eyes peeled. The political landscape is ever shifting and this Fed drama is far from over. Until then I'll stick to hunting monsters. At least they're honest about being monstrous. And they don't involve Senate committees.
