A Viking's Eye on Washington's Mess

By Odin's beard what a tangled web these Midgardians weave. As Ragnar Lothbrok I've seen my share of power struggles but this… this is something else. They call it the Federal Reserve a place where men in suits decide the fate of fortunes much like we Vikings decided the fate of kingdoms. Only instead of axes they wield words and laws and instead of longboats they have… well I'm not quite sure what they have. Perhaps gilded chariots pulled by the invisible hands of the market.

Tillis' Stand The Price of Independence

Senator Tillis a warrior in his own right stands athwart the path of Kevin Warsh. He demands satisfaction a clearing of the air regarding Jerome Powell before he allows another pawn to be placed on the board. He speaks of 'process,' a word that tastes like ash in my mouth. But I understand his sentiment. A leader must be free to lead unburdened by suspicion and the whispers of enemies. It reminds me of when I had to decide whether to trust King Ecbert – a cunning fellow but ultimately… well you know how that ended. Perhaps Warsh could learn something from Amex Ups the Ante with Exclusive Airport Lounges it is a place where the truly rich and powerful can take shelter from the storms of the world. A place where decisions are made in comfort and opulence and it can offer insight of how truly powerful men act and behave.

The Powell Predicament Accusations and Intrigue

Powell they say is under investigation. Accused of… what was it? Renovating a building? In my day we'd just burn the old one down and build anew. But these Midgardians they have rules regulations and endless paperwork. It seems this Powell is accused of something related to his testimony as well. I can understand this as I also had to stand in front of many kings and try to not get beheaded. It seems that a simple beheading would be easier than this endless political charade.

Trump's Shadow A King's Whims

And then there is Trump the king of this land who seeks to influence the Fed. He wants lower interest rates perhaps to fill his coffers or to win favor with the masses. It reminds me of King Aelle who thought he could control me. We all know how that turned out. Tillis fears the Fed becoming a mere puppet of the king dancing to his tune. A valid concern for a puppet king is no king at all.

Lummis' Vision A Glimmer of Hope

Yet amidst this chaos there is a glimmer of hope. Sen. Cynthia Lummis speaks of transparency accountability and embracing the new – digital assets they call them. Perhaps these Midgardians are not so foolish after all. Perhaps they can learn to adapt to innovate just as we Vikings did when we sailed to new lands and conquered new horizons. But as I said earlier 'I wasn't supposed to change anything except perceptions.'

A Call for Clarity a Viking's Verdict

This Warsh he may be a good man. Tillis himself seems to think so. But until the shadow of doubt is lifted from Powell until the investigation is concluded Warsh remains in limbo. As I once said 'I decide my own fate.' And so must the Fed free from the whims of kings and the shadows of suspicion. Only then can they truly guide this land towards prosperity or at least a slightly less chaotic version of it. "I am the storm."
