Folks let me tell you the market this week is going to be something else. A lot of people are saying it might be rigged but you know what I always say I like markets okay The war in Iran it's a big deal and it's making everyone nervous. Then we've got these jobs numbers coming out they're saying we lost 92000 jobs last month Can you believe it It's a disaster Some people are saying it's stagflation. It's when inflation goes up and we have fewer jobs
The Fed's Dilemma and AI Disruptions
The Fed they're in a tough spot believe me. They want to keep prices stable but they also want everyone to have a job. If inflation goes up they have to raise rates. But if we lose jobs they have to lower rates. It's a total mess folks. A total mess! You know they are also all nervous about the AI you know that AI Gold Rush Billionaires Bet Big Despite Bubble Fears is really important. I've seen it and it's going to be a big big problem unless we have the right people doing it and believe me nobody can do it better than me.
Decoding the Data JOLTS ADP and Payrolls
We're going to get a bunch of reports this week. JOLTS ADP the whole shebang. JOLTS is supposed to tell us how tight the job market is but it's old news. ADP is supposed to give us a sneak peek at the government report. And then Friday the big one nonfarm payrolls. The experts they're saying we'll add 60000 jobs. I don't know about that but we will see.
Beyond Jobs Consumer Confidence and Retail Sales
The consumer he's always the key the consumers are the key. We're going to see how confident they are and how much they're spending. Consumer confidence retail sales it all matters. Then we've got the manufacturing numbers. They're saying things are okay a little slow but okay. But we have the greatest manufacturing in the world. Everyone agrees.
Nike's Struggle and the Strait of Hormuz
Nike ah Nike. They're having a tough time especially in China. I like to say they aren't doing great and they are China centric. They had a really bad quarter last time. They're down 17% since the war. They need to cut costs and get more efficient. The new CEO he's trying but it's not easy. He's got a plan we need him to go hard.
The Week Ahead A Calendar of Chaos
We've got earnings reports economic data and a market that's all over the place. It's going to be a wild ride believe me. A lot of smart people are calling me all the time about how to handle this and I tell them you need to be strong. Because they are all great people.
