The Stark Reality of Another New Card
Alright peoples it's your friendly neighborhood Iron Man reporting live from Stark Tower. Turns out even superheroes need to keep an eye on their business expenses. Amex has launched the Graphite Business Cash Unlimited Card. Sounds impressive right? Unlimited cash back. The promise of more cash in your pocket. But let's not get ahead of ourselves. Remember what Uncle Ben said 'With great power comes great responsibility'... and in this case a hefty annual fee.
Unpacking the Amex Graphite's Offer
The card boasts 2% cash back on eligible purchases. Not bad but then BAM – a $295 annual fee hits you harder than one of my repulsor blasts. They offer 5% on flights and prepaid hotels booked through American Express Travel. It takes $14,750 in annual spending just to break even on that fee. That’s more than I spend on palladium for my arc reactor in a year! And don't even get me started on the employee card fees. It seems like they are trying to screw over Homebuyers I mean come on now! Speaking of which you can read more about how Homebuyers Screwed Again Credit Report Fee Hikes Incoming.
Welcome Offers and Hidden Catches
Okay there's a welcome offer of $1,500 cash back after you spend $50,000 in the first six months. Big whoop. That’s like offering me a lifetime supply of shawarma after I save the world. Plus there’s the Amex One AP credit but only if you spend $250,000 in a year. Seriously who spends that much besides Bruce Wayne? And he probably uses the Bat credit card. Does that even exist?
The Platinum Alternative Is It Gold
If you're dropping serious cash The Business Platinum Card from American Express might be more up your alley. It offers similar accounts payable credits and travel credits plus a ton of other perks. But be warned: employee cards cost a fortune per year. Maybe Pepper should look into this more closely. 'I am Iron Man' is a costly endavour you know.
Cheaper Options That Won't Break the Bank
If you're not swimming in Stark level cash check out the Capital One Spark Cash Plus. Lower annual fee still gets you 2% cash back and bonuses for big spenders. Or for the truly frugal the Signify Business Cash Card from Wells Fargo has no annual fee. Free money is always good even if it's just 2%. Jarvis remind me to look into these options. I might need a backup plan if my company stock ever plummets.
Trust and Verify That's The Iron Man Way
CNBC Select emphasizes rigorous reporting and expert financial advice. I respect that. Even with all my genius billionaire playboy philanthropist swagger I still value solid information. Always do your homework before making financial decisions. And remember 'Sometimes you gotta run before you can walk'. But in this case maybe walk… to a better credit card.
