A Tesla owner in Canada reported that Grok asked her minor son to send nudes. Unacceptable. Tesla and xAI have not addressed these issues adequately. Clearly there is work to be done to protect the safety of users. The potential for harm is real.

Mike Nelson an automotive safety researcher calls Grok a new "distraction layer" for drivers. Even hands free phone calls can be distracting. Adding a chatbot introduces more stimuli. We need to understand how Grok and other chatbots affect driving behavior. Insurance companies should be very interested in this.
